Argyle Street (East)
Construction Starts: TBC
The Avenues project on and around Argyle Street will stretch from Anderston Cross to Trongate, and through St Enoch Square and Dixon Street down to the Clyde at Custom House Quay.
Like the other parts of the project, the Argyle Avenue will see key Glasgow city centre streets redesigned to protect and prioritise space for cyclists and pedestrians, improve connectivity, introduce sustainable green infrastructure through attractive streetscapes and enhancing biodiversity and the capacity to deal with climate change, as well as improving the way public transport is accommodated and encouraging its use.
The public consultation for this Avenue is now closed but you can still view all the initial design proposals here. The images shown are illustrations of potential investment and not the final design. A more detailed design is now progressing, taking into account comments following the consultation.
