In November 2021, Glasgow hosted the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).

Hosting this global event has given us a unique opportunity to make real progress towards our ambition of becoming one of the most sustainable cities in Europe. We all have a part to play. We can enjoy safer streets, cleaner air and warmer homes if we all act now. Together, we can help to make Glasgow a greener city and build better lives and a better future for everyone.

Glasgow means ‘Dear Green Place’ and the city lives up to its name with over 90 parks and gardens. The city’s commitment to sustainability received global recognition recently when it was declared a Global Green City. Glasgow is also ranked fourth in the world for sustainability as a conference destination.
